Audio and Video Resources
  1. Michigan Learns Online Portal http://www.remc.org/projects/milearnsonline/        Interesting but more for older and college. There is some great stuff for teachers though. I loved the TED table of the elements movies.  Awesome!

  2. Twice -(Two Way Interactive Connections in Education)  interactive for classrooms http://www.twice.cc/   Not updated - 2 year old dates.  Would love to but times are a problem when I see every class.  Hard to set up an actual conference for each class.  Perhaps record it and play it back for other?  Not as meaningful that way though.

  3. Capspace - another teacher link classroom link  https://projects.twice.cc/  Time and hours may be an issue but looks cool - need to sign up.  Noticed that the dates and deadlines are all from 2 years ago.

  4. The Teaching Channel - videos https://www.teachingchannel.org/?national=1. Pretty cool - I will probably use this -added a link  Easy t o get lost in this website.  I can see I will need to spend some more time here. I like the QA section, this was my first rabbit hole. So much information!

  5. Itunes U  educational content in both audio and video formats http://www.apple.com/education/itunes-u/
Looks like a big advertisement.  Different link now? Must be.
  6. School Tube http://www.schooltube.com/   -- Oh no! Another rabbit hole and I fell down it.  I am looking to see if there is a way to password protect some of them.  I have a number of things .....I used to run a movie club.  This would be a great place to display our movies, stop motion, etc.  Hmmmmmm, I think I had better sign up!

  7. Teacher Tube http://www.teachertube.com/  So, what is cooler, teachertube or Schooltube?  It will take some digging to make that determination.  Some pretty nice videos by teachers.

  8. YouTube for education  https://www.youtube.com/education  Hmmm, so again, I would have to use this for a while to see what the plus and minus factors would be.  Pretty cool though.  It looks like there are not categories per say. At this point, I am leaning towards schooltube though.

  9. MI Streamnet is a portal to Live and On-Demand professional development and legislative videos for Michigan educator  http://mistreamnet.org  Hey, cool!  The MACUL keynote speakers.  They were great, I wouldn't mind hearing some of their speeches again.

  10. PBS LEarning - http://www.pbslearningmedia.org  I see a lot of really good quality stuff here.  I looked at careers, which I am doing with my 5th grade classes.  There is some great stuff here for that.  Sometimes quality is worth more than quantity.  I like this site a lot. Probably the most time I spent at any site.

  11. WatchGrowLearn  http://watchknowlearn.org/  Free collection of videos from teachers around the world -  Another great video site.  I like how this one is laid out.  Still a danger of information overload, but the search was more targeted and came closer to what I was looking for than a few of the other ones.
Others I Loved
TeachersFirst- Got lost is this one for a while.  My searches turned up some of my favorite stuff.
http://gohighbrow.com/ - So, I signed up for this and I have high hopes.  I love little blurbs of knowledge.
Project Gutenberg - Thousands of online books!  Way cool!

PodCasts
I am not sure what Podcast resources we are supposed to use, so I pulled some from the sites we learned about.I did a search and found a site that I got lost in for several hours, Stitcher.  It is a huge collection of podcasts of all sorts.  I got the app.  NPR education site was another that I found worth sharing.
Modifying Activities
One of my favorites was found on the MLO site and directed me to the TED  -Ed on instructional videos.  It is the one that has a video for every single element. It gave me an idea for flipping the learning and having my science and engineering group do something similar.  It will involve research to understand the subject well enough to teach it.  It will also require students to learn some new technology uses.  Their results can be put either on teacher or school tube and used by other classes.
I also run the STEM fair.  It is always a struggle to get kids to understand the process and the presentation. I have other students who have a real grasp of what is required and the process they need to work through to achieve it.  I could have them create a step by step video and use Schooltube or Teachertube to present it, again flipping the learning back to the students.

Dave,
You always come up with the greatest, and effective ideas and strategies to use with your students. Your perspectives come from your thinking brain's need for logic and order so it's great to see how you are processing each tool before jumping in to try it with students. Great work!
