Sharing and Collaboration with Google Docs
It turns out, I am working on a project for our curriculum person, Peg Baker. We have to create a map with corresponding METS links. I am sharing mine with her using Google. In the end, she will have a shared folder I can keep up that will allow her to see my changes over the year as I develop new ideas. I LOVE this! It is so nice to have her comment and I see it right away. What did I ever do without these capabilities?
I know there are a couple of tech teachers out there who might like to see the Map as well to see what other tech classes look like. I have attached a PDF of the map for anyone who might like to see it.

Lino - I totally love this site! I can see how it would be fun for classroom, but also for family to share pics of grand kids (very important). I am working on a site for my Native American Unit. I am not sure how I will work it yet, but it will look great.
Trello I was a little disappointed in Trello. I was excited to set it up to help the Science Fair group I am the head of with a checklist and item list that would carry over for next year's fair. The concept was good, but I wasn't real impressed with the checklist feature. I would also have liked more control over what my "Notes" looked like. I wonder if there is another site that does similar things. I will have to check. |
In Conclusion
In my opinion, the real work horse of the bunch is still Google Docs for general use or for collaboration. Will definitely use the scheduling like Meeting Wizard, and I will continue to look for a good checklist program I can use for the Science Fair and other committees I am on. It would be a great way to delegate tasks. Google worked so well for sharing my documents with the team as I develop a new curriculum map and prove my alignment to METS. The feedback I received was very helpful. I have students putting together a podcast on the constitution at this time and they are working by sharing the script. It is an awesome collaboration assignment. This lesson both augments, and even goes as far as redefining how students work together. I had three girls write one scrip at the same time. It required a high level of group cooperation that never could have happened with pencil and paper.
